STUDIO AR13

This studio is a living experiment of our design philosophy. Every decision shows our intent, every detail is a test of conviction. This building, the first phase of our growing practice began with a simple question: what does it mean to create space for creativity itself?

The site strategy responds directly to context. By pushing the building towards the northern boundary, we freed the southern edge for a garden that fills the studio with green. A water body at the entrance became our threshold, crossing it on concrete steps, you leave the street's noise behind. Fish drift below, plants soften the edges. It's a pause before entering a creative atmosphere.

We needed a place that could live with us. Some days demand focused, heads-down work. Others call for sprawling models across tables, pinning up drawings, debates that spill into the evening. The space had to hold all of it without forcing any of it.

The layout unfolds linearly as the waiting area flows into the discussion space, then the main working zone with ancillary spaces like the pantry, material library and washrooms defining the perimeter.

Light moves through the spaces over the course of each day like a fourth dimension. Shadows trace across surfaces, revealing textures you would differentiate in an instant. At night, our studio lighting rewrites the space entirely, what felt open and airy becomes intimate, focused, charged with possibility.
